Pastor Chris wraps-up our Summer of Psalms series with Psalm 100 and Psalm 150. The entire book of Psalms is wrapped up in the final verse in chapter 150:6, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” This is what it is all about. Psalm 100 is also all about praise. It begins with an invitation for “all of the earth” to praise the Lord. That is everyone, that means, you and me. No one is exempt from this list. Each and everyone of us is called to praise the Lord with gladness, and joy. See when you and I begin to understand who God is, His greatness, goodness, and that He is our shepherd providing everything for us, our only response is joyful praise! Everything that you and I have comes form God. Psalm 100:3, “Know that the Lord is God. It is He how made us, and not we ourselves.” And then the invitation to enter the party. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, there is a non-stop party going on in heaven at the throne of God. Every week we have the opportunity as a family at church, to come and join in the party! And even better than that, this party has lasted for generations before us and will continue for generations after.
Psalm 150 finishes the entire book of Psalms with a call to Praise the Lord. Specifically 13 times within 6 verses. Praise the Lord in the church, sanctuary, tent, school gym, wherever church is, there is praise! Praise Him in His mighty heavens where He is! Praise Him with all of the instruments, who you are, everything that you have, with all of your being. And the final verse in the entire book of Psalms, summarizing the entire book, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” If you have breath, you are to praise! Plain and simple as that. Praise the Lord!
