Life. Money. Legacy. | Part 3

Diving back into our Life. Money. Legacy. series, Dave Ramsey tackles the much debated topic of debit. Is it good? Is it bad? It seems like we live in an age where you cannot even think about making it through life without debt. Is there a purpose to it?

When looking at the scripture we see in Proverbs 22:7, “The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.” Dave goes as far to say that any and all debit is bad. When we find ourselves in debt, it truly seems like we are entrapped in slavery. Our money just goes straight to payments and we don’t get to do what we want with our money.

This idea of debt has been so well marketed to us and entrenched within all of our financial decisions that we have grown accustomed to carrying it around. We have this credit card, a car payment, student loans, mortgage, and many others. To not own someone anything seems strange. It is very counter-cultural to be debt free.

So how does one even being to find freedom from borrowing money? What do you do? What does the bible say on how to escape from debit? Is there a better way to manage our money? Follow along to learn.
